The winner of the mid-1980's contest for a smaller vehicle was the Ikarus 216. Prototype 216.00 is seen here in Hungary. It had a Raba-MAN D2156 HM6U engine. It was followed by almost 100 similar vehicles between 1989 and 1993 (series 5500).
