SOTRACO-Société de transport en Commun
Created on 24 July 2003 as a joint effort of the Government of Burkina Faso, the Commune of Ouagadougou and private operators, the Société de transport en Commun (SOTRACO) started its operations on 7 November 2003 at Ouagadougou, 14 June 2018 at Bobo-Dioulasso, 20 September 2018 at Koudougou and 20 February 20xx at Ouahigouya.
The initial fleet consisted of DAF TB -Jonckheere buses.
Later a large fleet of Indian Ashok-Leyland buses was acquired and in 2020 was the bulk of the fleet.
Smaller numbers of Chinese buses followed.
At the beginning of 2025 the first batch of 15 new Scania -Marcopolo BRT type buses arrived, greatly modernising the fleet (picture SOTRACO).
