Avtomontasza, Ljubljana

The foundation for Avtomontasza was laid in 1934, when the smal TRIGLAV workshop was established in Ljubljana. In 1936 it was renamed Avtomontasza. In 1948 Avtomontasza became a state enterprise.

From 1946 on, TAM became the national chassis producer, initially on Praga-licensed chassis. From 1957 onwards, rear-air-cooled engine chassis based on Magirus-Deutz licenses were used. From 1967 Avtomonstasza became importer and licensed producer of MAN and large numbers of MAN buses were delivered, both nationally and for export.
